Lynne Hockney trained at the Royal Ballet School. Her choreographic career has encompassed opera‚ theatre‚ film and television‚ largely in the UK and USA‚ working with directors as diverse as James Cameron‚ Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sir Peter Hall. Her work has been seen at repertory theatres throughout the UK and USA and her extensive list of film credits include The Village‚ Titanic‚ True Lies‚ Town & Country‚ Wild‚ Wild West‚ and Rocky & Bullwinkle.
Most recent and future engagements include her own acclaimed production of La Cenerentola in Erfurt and Sir Peter Hall’s Cenerentola (Glyndebourne and Berlin)‚ A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Glyndebourne) and Otello (Castleton Festival) all as Revival Director. Recent and future choreography includes Fiddler on the Roof and La bohème in Malmö‚ Billy Budd with Opera North and Dead Man Walking for the Royal Danish Theatre (Orpha Phelan)‚ Romeo et Juliette‚ Un ballo in Maschera‚ La bohème and Eugene Onegin (Grange Park Opera; Stephen Medcalf); Manon Lescaut (The Grange Festival), La bohème and A Little Night Music (Malmö)‚ Rusalka (Magdeburg)‚ Guillaume Tell (Graz)‚ Otello (Korean National Opera)‚ Katya Kabanova (Scottish Opera and Magdeburg) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Oldenburg) all with Stephen Lawless) and Don Quichotte Romeo et Juliette and Don Carlo (Grange Park Opera).
