Claire Wild attended the Royal Northern College of Music‚ sponsored by the Peter Moores Foundation and the Musicians Benevolent Fund. She won the Webster Booth Award‚ the James Oncken Song Prize and the Frost Browson Award.

Roles have included Sandman and Dew Fairy Hansel und Gretel (debut while still a student)‚ Emmie Albert Herring‚ title role L’enfant et les sortilèges‚ Papagena‚ Esmeralda and Despina (Opera North); Gretel (Scottish Opera); Herald The Minotaur (Essential Scottish Opera Tour); Martine Babette’s Feast (Royal Opera Linbury Studio); Leona La Belle Hélène (English National Opera); Nausikaa in Edward Rushton’s Birds‚ Barks and Bones and The Bird in Judith Weir’s Blonde Eckbert (the Opera Group); title role The Cricket Recovers (Almeida/Aldeburgh Festival); Walter La Wally (Chelsea Opera Group); Cherubino (Bielefeld); and Papagena (Komische Oper).

Concert repertoire includes MessiahCarmina Burana and Christmas and New Year Galas (Raymond Gubbay and Opera North). She appeared in Channel Four’s Twelfth Night (director Tim Supple).
