Recent and forthcoming engagements include Flower Maiden Parsifal and Frantik The Cunning Little Vixen (Royal Opera House‚ Covent Garden); Clorinda Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda (Netherlands Opera); Belinda Dido and Aeneas (Akademie für Alte Musik‚ Berlin and Brussels); The Swan in Jonathan Doves’s Swanhunter (Opera North); First Niece Peter Grimes (Salzburg Easter Festival and Berlin under Sir Simon Rattle; Fauno Ascanio in Alba (Buxton Festival); Orazio Handel and Bononcini’s Muzio Scevola and Celia Handel’s Silla‚ also recorded (London Handel Festival); Jano Jenufa (ENO); Zerbinetta (Garsington); and Ida Die Fledermaus (Glyndebourne).
Elizabeth Cragg studied at Royal Holloway College‚ and the Royal College of Music with assistance from the Countess of Munster Trust. She won the Muriel Kistner Prize and the Dorothy Silk Prize for Practical Singing.
Concert repertoire includes Bach‚ Fauré‚ Handel‚ Haydn‚ Mozart and Purcell with the Academy of St Martin‚ The Bach Choir‚ Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra‚ City of London Sinfonia‚ The English Concert‚ Ex Cathedra‚ The Hanover Band‚ The King’s Consort‚ Manchester Camerata‚ The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (BBC Proms)‚ Orquesta Pablo Sarasate‚ Real Filharmonia de Galicia‚ The Sixteen‚ Ulster Orchestra and Northern Sinfonia. Recitals include Britten’s On This Island (Roger Vignoles) and concerts at the Purcell Room and Victoria and Albert Museum.
